Director
Prof. (Dr.) Ruhi Paul serves as the Registrar at National Law University, Delhi teaching courses on Civil Procedure and ADR methods. She has been teaching ADR courses both at the NALSAR, Hyderabad and at NLU, Delhi to graduate and under-graduate students since 2006. She is the Director of the Centre for ADR at NLU, Delhi since 2008.
She initiated a completely online six month Diploma Program in Law & Practice of Arbitration at the University. She was awarded the Research Fellowship at Asian Law Institute (ASLI), National University, Singapore in 2018-19 for research in Designing Evaluation Systems for Court Annexed Mediation Centre in India. She has presented several research papers in various national and international conferences. She has conducted workshops for training faculty members in Teaching ADR methods. She has been regularly invited for delivering lectures on ADR Methods to the Judicial Academy and to Government Departments. She has designed course modules on ADR for various organizations.
Her areas of interest are Alternative Dispute Resolution and Procedural Laws. She has been actively engaged in various research projects which included Sub-National Governance, Legal Assistance Programme for Land, Village Peace Makers Program among others. She has held various academic and administrative positions. She has participated in national as well as international seminars and her research papers are published in various leading journals and books.

Dr. Nidhi Gupta

Faculty Member
Dr. Nidhi Gupta has more than twenty-five years of experience in teaching, training and research in Law and judicial education in India and Europe. Before joining NLU Delhi she was Associate Professor at National Law University, Jodhpur. At NLUJ she was Executive Director for Centre for Advanced Research and Training in Arbitration Laws (CARTAL). She was also faculty advisor for the flagship journal of the Centre- Indian Journal of Arbitration Law (IJAL).
Dr. Gupta started her career in legal education in 1996 soon after clearing the UGC NET examination. She joined the Department of College Education, Government of Rajasthan as a lecturer in 1996. She taught in the Government College in Kota and Ajmer. She moved on from the Government job to join National Law University, Jodhpur in 2006, where she served till 2008. She went to explore the world of judicial education in 2009 as she joined National Judicial Academy, Bhopal,. After six years of involvement with judicial training and education, she joined NLUJ again in 2015 to return to the world of legal education. She continues to be involved with judicial education as a visiting faculty at the Rajasthan State Judicial Academy, Jodhpur. She has also been a guest faculty at the Delhi Judicial Academy.

She has been a guest faculty in the European Academy of Legal Theory, Belgium and in many universities in Belgium and also in Denmark, teaching courses on Feminist Legal Theory and on the topics related to law, gender justice and cultural diversity. She has also been a visiting faculty in the National Law School (NUSRL), Ranchi as well as in the National Law School (NLIU), Bhopal teaching courses on private international law, jurisprudence and criminal law.
With her interests in gender issues she gained substantial field experience in that area while working as a researcher in the Rajasthan State Women’s Commission on deputation from the Government of Rajasthan on a post sponsored by the UNICEF. She has also co-authored two Monographs for International Encyclopaedias of Laws, Kluwer Law International - on Private International Law and on Corporations and Partnerships. In recent years she has been writing extensively on issues relating to international commercial arbitration and conflict of laws.
