John is an experienced attorney, negotiator and public speaker skilled in the art and science of interest-based negotiation. He has provided negotiation and conflict resolution training to United Nations personnel at the War Crimes Tribunal for Rwanda. John has been a Visiting Professor at the National Law University, Delhi, India and at Fundação Dom Cabral University, Brazil. ​Dr. Amit George practices as an Advocate before the High Court of Delhi and the Supreme Court of India. He has appeared as an arguing counsel in various matters, before various Courts and statutory Tribunals, resulting in reported judgments in diverse areas of law. Dr. George also frequently appears before various arbitral tribunals in ad-hoc and institutional arbitrations, with a special focus and expertise in disputes arising out of infrastructure contracts. He has been appointed as an arbitrator on various occasions by the High Court of Delhi and the Delhi International Arbitration Centre. Dr. George is the author of the book titled ‘Minority Rights in a Cosmopolitan World’ [Media House: 2018], and frequently contributes opinion pieces and articles on issues of contemporary legal relevance. Dr. George went on to secure an LL.M. [with Merit] degree from the University of London International Programmes with a specialization in International Dispute Resolution.
Mr. Shashank Garg is a well-known name in the global arbitration space and has recently set up his Chamber's Practice in Delhi. He was formerly a Partner in Advani & Co where he headed the firm’s practice in Delhi which specialization in international commercial arbitration, institution and domestic ad-hoc arbitration, mediation, civil and commercial litigation, and regulatory disputes. Shashank enjoys a great standing in the industry and is one of India’s most prominent professionals pioneering the advancement of arbitration in the region. He was recently honoured as “a rising 40 under 40” by the Legal Era. His book ‘Experts Guide to Arbitration in India’ has in a short time come to be known as an authoritative work in the industry. Recently, he was appointed as India’s Brand Ambassador at the ICCA Conference in Sydney and has been appointed a Rapporteur by the International Bar Association Sub-Committee.
Anirudh specializes in Arbitration, Commercial Dispute Resolution and Insolvency Law Disputes. He has participated as Counsel, Arbitrator and Indian law expert in domestic and international proceedings. He regularly appears before the Supreme Court of India, various High Courts, Statutory Tribunals, Arbitral Tribunals (both domestic and international). He has handled arbitrations under various institutional rules including ICC, SIAC, LCIA and AMTAC rules. He was part of the Law Commission of India’s (LCI) expert panel constituted for drafting the Amendment to the Arbitration and Conciliation Act and India’s Model Bilateral Investment Treaty. He is the Chief-Editor of Justice R.S. Bachawat’s Law of Arbitration & Conciliation, the author of “The Law of Reservation and Anti-discrimination” and has contributed chapters in the international publications- “Handbook on Third-Party Funding in International Arbitration” and “CPR India Supplement”.
Rahul Donde is counsel at Lévy Kaufmann-Kohler in Geneva. Over the past decade, Rahul has acted as arbitrator, counsel, secretary and assistant of the arbitral tribunal in over 30 international arbitrations under both ad hoc (Swiss PILA, UNCITRAL, Indian Arbitration Act, 1996) and institutional arbitration rules of various arbitral Institutions based in Belgium, Cairo, Hongkong, Singapore, London, United States, etc. Mr. Donde has experience in disputes relating to natural resources (water, oil, gas, renewable energy), commercial (agency, distribution, sales, purchase, services agreements) and corporate laws in different jurisdictions. Rahul has worked in Switzerland and India for several years and has expertise in complex commercial and investment disputes in both common law and civil law systems.
He is the co –founder of an organisation named Agami which aims to radically increase innovation and changemaking in systems of law and justice, and HumLab which is finding and accelerating transformative ideas in legal industry. Before Agami and Humlab, he led the Changemakers program at the leading global non-profit Ashoka, the world’s leading social innovation network. Sachin co-founded three ventures in India – (LST) Law School Tutorials, the leading law test-prep outfit, currently present in over 60 cities; Rainmaker, a learning and talent platform for the legal industry, the leading talent search firm for the legal industry and mylaw.net, the pioneer in online learning for legal and adjacent industries; and Inclusive Planet, a venture focused on greater literary access for the visually impaired, which succeeded in effecting national policy change.
Desh Gaurav Sekhri is a specialist in policy (Governance and Law) as well as a sports lawyer, columnist and author. He is currently Officer on Special Duty at NITI Aayog, Government of India. He also heads the Access to Justice Initiatve at NITI. Prior to that he headed the sports law practice of J. Sagar Associates. Mr. Sekhri is a frequent columnist in Business Standard, The Economic Times, The Indian Express, and The Financial Express. He writes primarily on governance, law, and sports. Mr. Sekhri is the author of the non-fiction book, Not Out! The incredible story of the Indian Premier League
Deepika Kinhal is Senior Resident Fellow and leads the Judicial Reforms work at Vidhi. She is currently managing projects which explore the intersection of law and policy with other disciplines such as technology, design, management etc. She is working towards making the JALDI (Justice, Access, and Lowering Delays in India) mission at Vidhi a multidisciplinary, collaborative, innovative hub for judicial reforms. Deepika is currently a part of the experts group set up by the Supreme Court’s E-committee to envision e-courts phase III project. Her work at Vidhi across the years has focused on studying court management systems across different levels of judicial hierarchy, with specific attention on tackling government litigation across these levels. She regularly writes in leading print and online media on issues concerning judiciary, women and child rights.
George Pothan graduated from Christ College, Bangalore with a Bachelors in Commerce and a degree of LL.B from JSS Law College, Mysore. He completed his Master’s in Lawfrom King’s College, London by 2012. Since than he is working as a Legal Consultant to Legal and Treaties Division, Ministry of External Affairs, Govt. of India.
Kanwar Vivswan is an Associate at Osborne &Clarke, Germany. Kanwar advises and represents clients in complex cross border disputes. His practice focuses on international arbitration matters especially in energy, infrastructure, technology and post M&A disputes. He has experience in representing clients across sectors in several large arbitration matters majorly under ICC and DIS rules. Before joining Osborne Clarke in 2019, Kanwar worked at a major Indian law firm in its disputes practice in Mumbai and German boutique arbitration firms in Berlin and Köln. Kanwar studied law (LL.B) at the National Law University, Delhi. He got admitted to the bar in India in 2016. He thereafter obtained Masters of Laws (LL.M.) degree at Humboldt University, Berlin in 2019 with a focus on international dispute resolution.
Poorvi Satija is an Associate in the International Arbitration Group in Paris and is qualified to practice in India and the State of New York. She is an associate at White & Case. Her practice includes international commercial and investment arbitration cases. Poorvi has been actively involved in the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot competition as an arbitrator and coach for a number of years. She is also a trained mediator and negotiator and has been coaching teams for the IBA-VIAC CDRC Vienna Mediation and Negotiation Competition since 2017. Poorvi graduated from NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad in 2013 with several laurels, including the most outstanding student of her class and the Vice Chancellor’s Medal for outstanding leadership skills.
Shouvik is an Associate at Boies Schiller Flexner. Shouvik has represented clients from various industries, including oil and gas, financial services, mining, telecommunications, gaming, and luxury goods. Mr. Ashish Dholakia is currently a counsel at the Supreme Court of India and Delhi High Court, with more than two decades of litigation experience. He has graduated from Cambridge University, England in the year 1995. He is the founder of Dholakia Law Associates and previously was a Counsel at Chambers Law Firm, PLLC. He has written extensively on International Commercial Arbitration, and currently specializes in various fields of law including Employment, Consumer Protection and General Corporate Law. Promod is the founder of Arista Chambers, a specialist dispute resolution practice. He is a dispute resolution specialist, with extensive experience in commercial litigation and arbitration.
